Ingredients (Serves 4)
700g Rump Steak
3 Tbsp Flour
1 Onion thinly sliced
2 Cups button mushrooms
5 fl oz Sour Cream
Olive oil for frying
Trim off excess fat off steaks,beat with rolling pin or meat mallet and slice thinly (fat is easier to remove if meat has been frozen for an hour prior to preparing)
Toss the strips in the flour and fry in a non-stick frying pan in a little olive oil for about 5 min. or until nicely browned.
Add the onion and mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the sour cream and heat through,add pepper to taste.
Instead of sour cream use normal cream with a dash of lemon
To make a beef goulash,add
1½ tbsp paprika to flour
After browning meat as above add 500g canned chop tomatoes,bring to boil for an hour and add cream as per recipe.
